As mentioned at the end of the “Template for Reading Research Papers”: “Meaning” develops from an adaptive “Process” of shared” Interpretation” between an author and a reader, about a conceptual connection between a symbol and that which if refers to.
Understanding the ”Meaning” of an author’s words starts with the ability to see the differences in context, positions, distances, and connections between the mental maps that the author and the reader use to emulate the real-world based on their historically unique “Perceptions” in order to manage “Motions” with “Predictions”.
These “Terms-of-Art” definitions enable an adaptive “Process” of shared “Interpretation” between the cited authors and readers. In particular, each definition indicates the presence of other “Terms-of-Art” definitions with quote marks to help readers develop a shared mental map with the authors cited in this workbook.
