Volume 1 - Part IV – Section #37: Foundational Papers from the 21st Century (3 of 3) - Peters - In the 2010s, Ergodicity Economics (EE) reasserts the role of mathematics as a method of skepticism about the nature of observables, thus returning mathematics to a language that questions the structure of economic problems, as opposed to Samuelson’s use of mathematics as a language that pre-defined the structure of economics problems. EE’s formalization of embedding randomness in time, as contrasted with the traditional embedding of randomness in the ensemble with “Expected Value”, solves many “Puzzles, Paradoxes, & Anomalies”. Additionally, EE’s range of applications extends beyond Financial Economics, to include Micro-, Meso-, and Macro-Economics.
